CSS 3? What about 2.1?

Roger over at 456 Berea St. posted an extremely helpful article on CSS 3 Selectors a long while ago. This was posted over 2 years ago, and most designers (including myself) are just now getting around to really looking into and learning more about CSS 3.

In actuality, the CSS 2.1 standard is just now finally being supported by Microsoft in their new IE 8 Beta release. Although it is not fully supported yet, MS has said that future releases of the beta will have full 2.1 support built in. The CSS 2.1 standard is already fully supported in Firefox, Safari, and Opera browsers.

So, while it may do you well to go ahead and start studying up on the CSS 3 standard, it will most likely be a really long time before you get to implement some the great features of it.
